Our customers operate mission critical 24x7 processes which rely on ABB support from installation and initial start-up, through to life-cycle services to maximize the availability of the solutions provided by ABB and optimize their operations.You will be a part of the service management team, leading the Mine Hoist System Technical Services team in Automation Service Canada, serving customers in Canada, USA and Mexico. Reporting to the Director Automation Service Canada, you will implement the global Service strategy and drive Service excellence locally, achieving targets and optimizing the utilization of service personnel. Your responsibilities Running the day-to-day Service operations to ensure customer satisfaction, profitable growth and improvement of Service productivity by implementing agreed-upon delivery and performance standards and ensuring consistency in quality and customer satisfaction. Driving the implementation of the Service strategy, ensuring that corresponding plans are implemented consistently in the Mine Hoist System Technical Services team through collaboration with the local Service Centers within Automation Service Canada and the ABB Mine Hoist Systems Engineering team. Setting and monitoring progress toward performance targets as part of the Automation Service Canada team – including health & safety, financial, productivity, investments, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and operational excellence. Implementing and operating the Mine Hoist Remote Support Strategy for customers in North America. Ensuring ownership of customer remote support, reporting and condition monitoring using remote connectivity, phone or digital tools as per agreed terms of customer contracts. Investing in the improvement of existing Service product quality while suggesting developments in new Service products to expand the portfolio in line with global directions. Creating a culture where health, safety and integrity are key to all Service work within the organization. Building sustainable customer relationships to ensure local client growth, satisfaction and retention together with Sales and utilizing customer feedback to drive consistent development of processes and practices. Guiding, motivating, coaching and developing the skills, knowledge and competencies of the Service team members located across Canada, the USA and Mexico. Collaborating with Management to ensure that the Service team is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Your background A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or applied sciences discipline with 8 to 12 years of experience in technical field service and/or engineering and leading technical personnel either on projects or as direct reports. More than 5 years of experience in mine hoist systems, working as a project engineer with an overall understanding of the integrated system, associated sub-systems and technologies, including the HMI, control, drive, motor, electrical supply, hydraulics and braking systems. Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in commissioning, servicing and maintaining Mine hoist systems. Strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to customer needs with strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills. Results oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills and a solid reputation for being a team player. Must be entrepreneurial, a self-starter, and comfortable in a highly collaborative environment. Ability to travel to domestic and/or international sites.
